Enrollment and Degree Verification

Current Students and Alumni

  1. Official enrollment verification certificates and degree verifications can be requested from the National Student Clearinghouse. National Student Clearinghouse is an authorized provider of these services on behalf of UMBC.
  2. Current students may submit verification forms for completion or request a letter verifying enrollment for the current term or an upcoming term for which they have enrolled. You may request these services online through Parchment. Parchment is an authorized provider of these services.
  3. Alumni and previous students may also request a letter verifying previous enrollment and degree verification. You may request these services online through Parchment. Parchment is an authorized provider of these services.

Third Party Requests

  • The National Student Clearinghouse will provide third parties a verification of enrollment and degree(s) earned at UMBC.
  • There are fees associated with these request. Fees is $18.45 paid on the National Student Clearing House Portal.
  • Prospective employers, insurance providers or other agencies can request a verification of enrollment and degree(s) earned by contacting the National Student Clearinghouse at 703-742-4200 or by visiting the following links:

Enrollment Verification
  • $2.50 – For Alumni, previous students, parents, and agencies requesting online verification through the National Student Clearinghouse Verification Services website
  • $5.00 – If requested through the Registrar’s Office
Degree Verification
  • $18.45 – For Alumni, students, parents, and agencies requesting online verification through the National Student Clearinghouse Verification Services website
  • $15.00 – If requested through the Registrar’s Office
Document Retrieval fee
  • $25 per document -This fee will be incurred for items such as catalog course descriptions that are not available online. Other examples include, but are not limited to, any requests for archival data related to student records.
