The Registrar’s Office and Veteran’s Services are here to help students who are using military education benefits understand how their benefits work towards funding their education. We process transactions between UMBC and the Department of Veteran Affairs. This can be a confusing process so we have developed an admitted student checklist, returning student checklist, and for those temporarily studying at UMBC, a guest student checklist.
If you are currently or plan to utilize VA benefits in the future, please join us for Webinars to ask our School Certifying Official(s) any questions that you may have regarding the use of the benefits. These webinars will be held during the first month of each semester.

What is a late fee hold on my account?
What do you need to submit every semester to receive VA benefits?
Why has the VA not paid my tuition and fees before the first day of classes?
What will the VA pay/not pay for?
